Hi I am 27 year old and I got a new ear piercing on my earlobe. It got septic and I was given drez ointment (iodinated povidone and metronidazole ). I applied for 2 days and the area around the piercing looks reddish-purple like it?s bruised or like it?s stained. There is very slight pain one one ear and no pain in the other side. Could you please advise the cause of the coloration on skin (or if it is normal) and whether to discontinue medication and see a doctor.
